Synopsis:
Andy Lau and Karen Mok star in Wait 'Til You're Older, a funny, heart-felt and sentimental story of one boy's exploration of adult life. Kwong is a young boy coping with a difficult family life. His mother commit suicide when she discovered that her husband, Man (Felix Wong) was having an affair. Since her death Man has married his mistress, Min (Mok), whom Kwong understandably hates. He wishes that he could become an adult so he wouldn't have to do what she says anymore. And as luck would have it, Kwong has a run-in with a strange old man in the park, and accidentally ingests a magical growth formula that causes him to begin aging very rapidly. As an adult, Kwong (played now by Andy Lau) gets to do anything he wants, like stay out late, get drunk or even flirt with his sexy teacher, Miss Lee (Cherry Ying). But he doesn't stop growing and within a couple of days Kwong has become an old man. The film contemplates the difficulties of family life, of raising children, of growing up, and facing death, which, anchored by Lau's strong central performance, makes for a touching and entertaining experience.
